Scheduling, Billing/Payments, Attendance, Cancelation Policies
Scheduling: Please contact Martha to schedule a lesson. Most students have a standing weekly appointment and will be contacted via email the first of each month and sent an invoice to verify the lesson dates/times for the month. It is the student’s/parent’s responsibility to review the dates listed on the invoice and notify Martha of any conflicts and/or schedule changes. After payment is received at the first lesson of the month, it is assumed that the student will be attending all scheduled lessons for that month.
Billing/Payments: Lessons are billed monthly at the beginning of each month. Invoices are sent via email on the first of each month. Payment may be made at the studio in the form of cash, check, credit card, or online via the On-Line Payments page. There is a charge of $15.00 for all returned checks. Please make checks payable to Martha Lavender. If paying with cash, exact change is greatly appreciated.
Regarding Lesson Cancellation: In case of a schedule change, students/parents can notify Martha and let her know of their need to change or reschedule a lesson. Lessons may be rescheduled only if a lesson is canceled with a 24 hour notice. If the instructor and student are unable to find a time for a rescheduled lesson, a credit will be given toward the next month’s billing. If a student does not attend a scheduled lesson and does not notify Martha within 24 hours prior to that cancellation, that lesson is charged as scheduled and may not be made up. If a student arrives late to a lesson, the missed time may not be made up. Students should be picked up promptly after the lesson is finished.Schedule If a student with a standing weekly lesson time cancels a lesson for three or more consecutive weeks, that lesson time may be given to another student.
Regarding Inclement Weather: Martha uses the Cherry Hill School District to determine official weather-related closings. If the Cherry Hill public schools are closed, you can assume the studio is closed that day. However, lessons may be held despite school snow days if the student and Martha decide to do so. If your lesson is on a weekend or school holiday and you think the weather might cause a closing, please communicate with Martha to see whether or not the studio is open. If the studio is open for business but you do not wish to travel in inclement weather, it is your responsibility to notify her of your cancellation, preferably within 24 hours.
Martha is absolutely an outstanding coach and instructor and has provided to me the most enlightening and thorough instruction I have ever experienced! The improvements in my singing are noticeable and my ability to utilize my voice in a completely different manner than before is pronounced. She is also motivating and extremely pleasant!
